On March 2, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate BJP’s Vijay Sankalp Yatra from Nandagad(about 32 kms from Belagavi) in Belagavi district which is home to the memorial of Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna.
On March 3, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch two more Yatras, one in the morning from Basavakalyana in Bidar district and the other in the afternoon from Avathy in Devanahalli near Bengaluru.
To energize their campaign for the impending Assembly polls in Karnataka, the BJP has planned to kickstart their ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ on Wednesday. Specially designed vehicles or “Rathas” will initiate the yatra in the state from four directions, with the party’s central leaders leading the way.
The Ratha Yatras scheduled to commence on March 1, 2, and 3 will traverse all Assembly constituencies, as mentioned by the spokesperson. The yatra is anticipated to witness the presence of several party leaders during its course. More than 50 national and state leaders are expected to participate in this campaign, which will span all 31 districts and 224 constituencies in the state, where elections are scheduled to take place by the end of April.
The 20-day yatra will culminate in a grand rally on March 25 at the district headquarters town of Davangere. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be among the dignitaries present at the rally.
The four “Rathas” are custom-made buses measuring 30-ft in height and eight-ft in width. The top of the buses provide space for leaders to stand and address the public during the yatra. Additionally, the buses are equipped with various amenities, such as charging ports for mobile devices, a home theatre, audio systems, cameras, LED displays, and a generator for backup power, among other features.
